How to Write a Letter to a Elms Elf

Elms elves prefer small envelopes and stationery when they write, and they appreciate it when we use small envelopes and narrow stationery when we write to them. They like reading letters written on narrow sheets. The narrower the sheet, the easier it it for them to hold the letter in their hands and read it comfortably.

First make an elf envelope using the directions on the elf Christmas card page (or get an elf envelope from Mr. DeFrange made by his Elms High School moms for you). Your envelope should be addressed like the one in the picture below with your return address in the corner with your name and grade.

Next, take a sheet of notebook paper and use a ruler to measure the stationery. You'll get two elf-size stationery sheets for every school-size sheet of notebook paper that you use.

Here's how to measure the school-size sheet with your ruler.

After you cut them out, place the stationery sheets aside and write your Elms elf letter on a regular sheet of notebook paper. This way you can ask your mom or dad to correct any errors before you write on the stationery. As you write, try to tell the shelf elf something important about yourself or your family. Also tell the Elms elf which books are your favorites. The Elms elf loves hearing people talk about the books that they love the most. When your letter is written and all the mistakes are corrected, choose a nice sharp pencil and copy your letter onto the stationery. (If you're brave, use a pen.) Remember to use your neatest printing or cursive. Here's a sample letter to give you some ideas.
