Famous Mathematician Baseball Cards

 

Objective: To get to know some of the women behind mathematics and their achievements.

 

Activity:

Create 2 baseball cards, one for each of your mathematicians please include the following:

A minimum of 7 facts about your person on the back of the card

            Information potential                       date of birth and death (if she is dead)

College attended or worked

Where she lived and studied

How we use her information today

Her major contribution to mathematics or mathematics education

                        Interesting facts about her life

On the front her picture or an artist’s rendering ( you may pull from the internet)

Cards should be baseball card sized and may be made of a paper of your choosing.

Please create a visually appealing card. 

            Be colorful

            Be neat

            Be easy to read

Please cite all web and print materials on a separate sheet of paper. You need a minimum of four sources.

 

Assignment is due September 22, 2011. This is a Thursday before you have a 3 day weekend
