WHAT'S NEW - High School
· 19% of Class of 2011 qualify for National Merit
Eight juniors who took the 2009 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test in October met the requirements to enter the 2011 National Merit® Scholarship Program with a Selection Index score of 201 or above. Of approximately 1.5 million program entrants, each student is among the 50,000 highest-scoring participants.

· The Elm Leaf won 1st place for overall best newspaper in our school size category in the annual OSMA journalism convention at Kent State. An additional group award went to the entire Elm Leaf staff for staff editorial. Individual awards went to Sophia Paul '11, Chris Bellinger '10, Maggie Waickman '11, Meghan Caprez '11, Liz Sain, '11, Simone Satow '11, Kathleen Cawley '10, Katrina Muller '11, Ally Cubero '10 and Hae ji Yoon '11.
· Elms 2009 Ohio Graduation Test Score Results: 1st in Summit County, 3rd in NorthEast Ohio, 13th in State of Ohio!
· Class of 2009 earned over $4.4 million in scholarships!
· Three seniors of Class of 2009 named National Merit Finalists
